    Moving from a vector image to a raster image

    An SVG describes an image with mathematical shapes (curves, points), making it infinitely scalable without losing sharpness. A PNG, by contrast, is a fixed grid of pixels: once exported at a given size, enlarging it will introduce blur or pixelation.
